Christopher You, MD

Bariatric Surgeon

Christopher You, MD, is a board-certified bariatric surgeon in Baltimore, MD. He obtained his medical degree from Georgia Regents University. He completed his residency at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. He completed fellowships at Northwest Hospital Center and Sinai Hospital.

Dr. You is co-medical director of the comprehensive Robotic Surgery Program at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
During his consultations, Dr. You fully explains patients' conditions and helps them choose an appropriate treatment plan.

Dr. You was named a 2016 "Top Doc" by Baltimore Magazine for bariatrics. He was previously named for 2014 and 2015.

Alain Abdo, MD

Bariatric Surgeon

Alain Abdo, MD, bariatric surgeon, has extensive training in minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques and is a certified user of da Vinci® technology. 

Dr. Abdo earned his medical degree at Lebanese University and then relocated to the Baltimore area, where he pursued training and a bariatric/minimally invasive fellowship program at Saint Agnes Hospital. During that time, he pursued clinical rotations at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, the University of Maryland Medical Center, and MedStar Franklin Square, building his knowledge and expertise in the areas of general surgery, pediatrics, trauma, transplant surgery and burn care. Additionally, Dr. Abdo has demonstrated a solid commitment to his field through conducting, publishing and presenting medical research. 

Dr. Abdo is a member of the American College of Surgeons. He is fluent in English, French and Arabic. 

Gabriel Del Corral MedStar Plastic Reconstruction Bariatric

Gabriel Del Corral, MD

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon

Gabriel Del Corral, MD, a fellowship-trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon joins the MedStar Plastic Reconstructive Surgery team at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center.  Board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Del Corral has a specific interest in working with breast cancer patients.

Dr. Del Corral has extensive experience performing a wide variety of breast reconstruction procedures including the DIEP/TUG flap as well as several other flap techniques, the two-stage tissue expander/implant, and the one-stage direct to implant reconstruction. He is also highly skilled in treating patients with post-surgical lymphedema using the most advanced microsurgical techniques. This includes lymphatic surgery to treat lymphedema and breast cancer-related lymphedema.

He is a member of professional societies that include the American Society of Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, and the American Society of Lymphatic Surgery, among others. He has been named a “Top Doctor” by Baltimore Magazine for plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, breast reconstruction and body contouring.  

Debra Keiter, CMA

Debra is a Clinical Certified Medical Assistant, graduate of Brightwood College. Experienced in data entry and office management. She is going to continue her education to become a registered nurse. Debra looks forward to providing personal assistance and guidance with assisting patients through the process to obtain bariatric surgery resulting in great outcomes.

Lauren D'Ambrosia, MS

Lauren is a full-time Exercise Physiologist with a background in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. She received her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from James Madison University before pursuing her Master of Science degree in Applied Health Physiology at Salisbury University. She looks forward to sharing her passion of health and fitness with those who wish to participate in a more active lifestyle.

Kerry L. Strom, RD, LDN

Dietitian Educator

Kerry L. Strom graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in dietetics. She completed her dietetic internship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Upon graduation from her internship, she accepted a job as a clinical dietitian in Henderson, NV, and earned her Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSD) credential. Kerry then accepted a position as clinical nutrition manager in southern California and remained there until 2005 when she started working at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center. She currently focuses on working with individuals pursuing bariatric surgery but also enjoys educating individuals regarding non-surgical weight loss, diabetes, hypertension, and other nutrition-related conditions.

Karen Wheeler, CRNP

Family Nurse Practitioner

Karen is a certified nurse practitioner and a licensed nursing professional. She works closely with patients post-operatively offering support and medical treatment. Karen is credentialed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons.

Jessika Rose, RD, LDN

Jessika is a Registered Dietitian and a Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in Maryland. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Human Nutrition, Food and Exercise-dietetics. She completed her dietetic internship at the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. Following graduation she worked as a Clinical dietitian at Medstar Good Samaritan Hospital until 2018. Jessika is a member of the American Dietetic Association and has a certificate in Adult weight Management.
