A fixture at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center for nearly 30 years, Dr. Harley's clinical interest lies in treating environmental lung disease and lung cancer. He demonstrates an unparalleled commitment to his patients as well as his peers. He is dedicated to collaborating with other physicians to continually elevate the level of care all lung patients receive.
Dr. Harley also serves as surgical director of the Angelos Center for Lung Diseases, where he oversees the transdisciplinary team of specialists. His leadership ensures each patient receives a comprehensive, integrated approach to the diagnosis, treatment, care, and prevention of a wide range of lung diseases and conditions. Dr. Harley is not focused only on surgery; he helps give patients direction for their treatment. He meets with patients for an initial evaluation and refers them to the appropriate specialist, as needed.
Dr. Harley is board certified in thoracic surgery and is a member of the American Heart Association and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has published numerous papers, abstracts, and book chapters and given many national and international presentations on his work.
