Ziv Gamliel, MD, is chief of Thoracic Surgery at The Angelos Center for Lung Diseases at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center and MedStar Harbor Hospital. Dr. Gamliel attended the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine, where he received his medical degree, and completed his internship in Surgery and residency in General Surgery. Dr. Gamliel then completed two more fellowships, one in Lung Transplantation and the other in Thoracic Surgery at University of Toronto. He has also completed a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at Harvard Medical School.
Board certified in Surgery, Dr. Gamliel specializes in non-cardiac surgery of the chest, treating conditions that include lung cancer, bullous lung disease, esophageal cancer, benign esophageal disorders, mediastinal tumors and tumors of the chest wall. He has extensive experience performing minimally invasive procedures.
Dr. Gamliel is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. When he is not practicing medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family.
