MedStar Health Opens New Vein Center in Baltimore
Dr. Margaret Arnold Will Treat Venous Disease, Vascular Issues

BALTIMORE—MedStar Health has opened a new Vein Center in Baltimore that will be led by vascular surgeon Margaret Arnold, MD, FACS, who will bring a strong clinical background in the treatment of vascular and venous diseases and will focus her practice on treating varicose veins.
Dr. Arnold brings a wealth of experience in vascular surgery, clinical instruction, peer reviewed original research, and leadership of general surgery residency. She will be primarily based at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center and MedStar Bel Air Medical Campus, where she will perform general vascular surgery with a focus on venous disease. She started with MedStar Health on October 14.
Dr. Arnold will also direct the MedStar Health Baltimore surgical residency program, which is primarily based at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center.

Dr. Arnold trained in general surgery at the University of North Carolina followed by a vascular surgery fellowship at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City. She has been at another area hospital for the last 8 years and has been functioning as both a vascular surgeon and the associate program director for the general surgery residency.
Dr. Arnold is experienced in both endovascular and open surgery and in the medical management of vascular issues. She treats all forms of vascular disease including aortic disease and thoracic outlet syndrome.
Her research focuses on medical and surgical training and education. Dr. Arnold is published widely, including book chapters and peer-reviewed articles and has spoken at regional and national vascular surgery conferences. She is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, Association of Women’s Surgeons, Southern Association for Vascular Surgery, and is a Fellow, American College of Surgeons.
