MedStar Health Cancer Network Hosts Cancer Survivors’ Luncheon

May 28, 2019

Annual Event Honors Survivors, Loved Ones and Highlights Ongoing Challenges

BALTIMORE—
About 600 cancer survivors, their caregivers and their loved ones will gather June 2 for the 5th annual Cancer Survivors' Luncheon, an event hosted by the MedStar Health Cancer Network that highlights the ongoing challenges cancer survivors face and honors their journey in treatment.

The event will be held at Boumi Shriners in Baltimore. It includes a seated meal, music and door prizes.

“Looking into the future after a cancer diagnosis can seem scary and uncertain,” said Albert Aboulafia, MD, Director of the MedStar Health Cancer Network. “With the help of loved ones and skilled medical staff, cancer survivors can find hope, support and joy. We are proud to host this event for another year and honor the resilience of our cancer survivors.”

MedStar Health Cancer Network’s event is held in conjunction with National Cancer Survivors Day®, which celebrates those who have survived cancer, rallies support from families and friends, inspires those who were recently diagnosed and reaches out to the community.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a family member or friend to recognize those who have supported them along the way.

Transportation services to the luncheon is available from MedStar Good Samaritan and MedStar Harbor hospitals.
