MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center Names Debbie Kisner, Vice President of Nursing Operations

MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center has named Debbie Kisner, PhD, RN, CNOR, NEA-BC, vice president of Nursing Operations.

nursing operationsBaltimore—MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center has named Debbie Kisner, PhD, RN, CNOR, NEA-BC, vice president of Nursing Operations. In her new role, Kisner will provide strategic leadership, sustaining the culture of Magnet and leading nursing services across the MedStar Franklin Square enterprise.

As vice president of Nursing Operations, Kisner will have operational responsibility for the departments of nursing including, Nursing Administration, Medicine, Women’s and Children, Behavioral Health, Oncology, and the Surgical Inpatient unit. Kisner also will serve as the executive liaison for the scope of nursing practices at MedStar Franklin Square’s ambulatory care sites.

Kisner has been at MedStar Franklin Square since 1987 and has held a variety of roles including staff nurse in the Operating Room, director of Perioperative Services and clinical nurse educator. Since 2004 she has held the position as administrative director of Surgical Services and most recently the interim Magnet program director.

Kisner has a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Maryland, a master’s degree in Education from Johns Hopkins University and a doctoral degree in Education from Kennedy-Western University.

Kisner demonstrates strong skills to work collaboratively with all disciplines across the organization. Kisner’s ability to plan, execute and achieve desired outcomes, along with her years of progressive management experience and knowledge of MedStar Franklin Square make her a top candidate for success in this new role.
